Review: ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks

AHHHH I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO EXCITED FOR A REVIEW BEFORE!! Or so excited for a product. I sat on the ColourPop website for six agonizing hours, trying to get nine of their new Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks into my cart, and I finally succeeded. Without further ado, I present the glorious new lip offerings from ColourPop.

I got Trap, Donut, Drive-in, Tulle, Succulent, Creeper, Zipper, Avenue, and LAX, and oh boy are they gorgeous!

That’s taken in natural light, so the arm swatches are very color-accurate.

I also did lip swatches for my lovely readers. πŸ™‚

Trap is a pale gray-mauve nude, which is identical to Lime Crime’s Cashmere.

Donut is that perfect 60’s coral pink—I loved this one!

Drive-in, a bright magenta-purple, was another favorite!

This is Tulle, a reddened nude brown/plum color. It’s a bit hard to describe, but it’s a lovely color! I could see this being a great nude for women of color or a sultry fall shade for pale chicks.

This beauty right here is Succulent, a neon orange-red. OMG.OMG. God-tier lipstick right here!

This little gem is Creeper, a true Hollywood red. Gorgeous.

Zipper is a darker purple, fun and unique. I will say that this is the only one that went on a little patchier.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Avenue...can you tell my lips are killing me?

Avenue is a dark, warm-toned brick red (and a dupe for Lime Crime’s Wicked.)

Lastly is the very dark, very vampy LAX, an extremely blackened cherry color.

My lips were killing me after all those swatches! It was worth it, however, because I have found my new favorite liquid lipsticks. These are some utterly gorgeous, very pigmented, very matte lipsticks that are so, so worth the mere $6 that they cost. I love the smaller doe-foot applicator and I love how with only one coat, you get in-your-face color and one heck of a matte finish–it’s like suede! I think these are my favorite product yet from ColourPop! πŸ™‚

  1. Drive In is awesome! I had like 4 of these in my cart when they released them but I wanted to remove 1 and it wouldn’t let me so they sold out before I could order! Hopefully they re-stock soon! πŸ™‚

    1. None of them really felt drying to me. I just put on some Carmex before I applied each one and my lips felt fine. Donut and Succulent felt the most comfortable, but they all were great!

  2. All of those shades look gorgeous! I will try to buy some after the hype dies down after a while I think. I like matte lipstick but it’s not my favorite.

      1. Yay! That’s good to know! I have two ABH ones and I find them so fickle! I like LCs newer formula. Event though it’s thinner it’s easier for me to work with, cuz I still struggle with them. I am saving up to do a big haul order!!
